Cherlynn Imes is the Principal of the Provo Elementary campus of Freedom Preparatory Academy, where she has been a dedicated member of the school community since 2013. With over 15 years of experience in education, Mrs. Imes is committed to fostering an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Mrs. Imes earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Brigham Young University, and holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. She taught first grade for over 10 years in four different schools, and has spent the last five years in administration at Freedom Preparatory Academy, first as Assistant Principal and now as Principal, a role she began in January 2024.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Imes has cultivated a leadership style that emphasizes collaboration, work ethic, and personal growth. She is passionate about providing students with an education that not only prepares them for academic success but also instills values of curiosity, responsibility, and resilience. As Principal, Mrs. Imes wants to create a school culture where students enjoy coming to school and are excited to learn new things every day.
Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Imes loves spending time with her husband and three children. The family enjoys playing board games together, particularly Ticket to Ride and Settlers of Catan. Mrs. Imes also spends a lot of her time watching her boys play baseball.
Mrs. Imes feels incredibly fortunate to be part of the Freedom Preparatory Academy community. She loves the students and staff, and she is continually inspired by the collaborative and caring atmosphere that defines the school.
