Every Student Receives a Personalized Learning Plan

No two students are the same. That’s why we work with parents to create a personalized Student Success Plan for each student that focuses on their areas of strength and opportunities for growth. Whether your student is above grade level in a particular subject area or has room for improvement, our teachers collaborate with you to design a plan that meets your students’ unique needs. This plan will include opportunities for your child to develop their social skills, expand their service capacity, and enhance their foundational academic abilities.

Create Emotional Safety

Our teachers, counselors, and administrators work together to create an emotionally safe environment. We follow a dress code to help our students avoid unproductive social comparisons. And we cultivate a culture of acceptance.

Develop the Whole Person

Along with delivering a rigorous academic curriculum, we teach students how to develop good character through proven programs such as “Leader in Me,” “Love & Logic,” and “Why Try.” Our extracurricular activities teach students leadership skills and help them further develop their abilities.

Every student has unique aptitudes, and we seek to help identify and develop them. Our teachers are licensed professionals who connect with each student. They use best practices and technology to provide adaptive learning opportunities to meet students at their level.

Freedom Preparatory Academy uses the highly acclaimed and academically rigorous Core Knowledge Sequence, Eureka Math, and Wonders literacy curriculum to ensure that our students meet and exceed the Utah State Core Curriculum. We hire certified teachers and provide extensive training in implementing these curricula. Students also study physical education, computers, art, and music. Students participate in our Leader in Me program that develops effective, happy children with strong leadership skills. We have a full-service library for the students to use on a daily basis. Freedom Preparatory Academy elementary students receive a strong foundation in all academic areas to build upon as they continue their educational journey and become responsible citizens.

Core Knowledge

Core Knowledge is built upon the principle that in order to understand the world around you; you must have a background knowledge of history, science, art, and music. Core Knowledge provides a systematic sequence of grade-specific content, becoming more sophisticated and detailed in each successive grade. This sequential building of knowledge not only helps ensure that children enter each new grade with the knowledge necessary to be successful, but also helps prevent repetition and gaps.

Franklin Covey’s Leader in Me program empowers students as they learn and practice 21st century leadership and life skills. Through leadership roles and goal tracking, students form habits that will help them be successful in school and prepare them to be responsible citizens and leaders in the future.

Eureka Math

Freedom Preparatory Academy is piloting Eureka for the second year. Eureka Math has set a new standard of rigor, coherence, and focus in our classrooms. Students gain a deeper understanding of the why behind the numbers as they learn through the Comprehensive Mathematics Instruction (CMI) process. With an emphasis on investigation, discussion, and hands-on activities, our students become mathematicians instead of relying on memorization. Our school also offers accelerated math courses for qualified students.

Wonders Language Arts

Freedom Preparatory Academy is piloting the Wonders language arts program. This comprehensive literacy solution is designed to meet the challenges of today’s classroom and reach all learners. The program fosters a love of reading in all children. The comprehensive set of resources allow teachers to adapt instruction with confidence as students grow. Our focus on teaching the whole child—and every child—prepares students to be lifelong learners and critical thinkers.

Students also participate in the AR (accelerated reader) program. This program supports students’ reading comprehension at their individual reading level to maximum students’ growth in reading.
